In 2014, the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) adopted curricula requirements created by the Council for Excellence in Education (CEE). All CAHIIM accredited programs must implement the 2014 curricula requirements by August 2017. The Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) has developed a tool-kit to assist programs with the transition to the 2014 competencies.

Join Michelle Millen, Director for the Health Information Management program at Collin College in McKinney, Texas, former chair of the Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) for AHIMA in 2016, and co-chair for the HIM Re-imagined task force and the HIM Awareness initiative in Texas as she offers an overview of the new RHIT competencies.

Michelle holds a Master’s of Science in Clinical Practice Management from Texas Tech University School of Allied Health and a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing and Advertising from the School of Management and the School of Public Communications from Syracuse University.
