Job Description
LexiCode, the leader in health information coding and consulting services, has full-time opportunities available for Consultants with experience and expertise in Inpatient & consultants with experience & expertise in ED coding to audit client medical records and provide valuable facility and coder feedback. These positions will work remotely from home. The salary range for this role is $65,000.00-$85,000.00 annually. Specific compensation for the role will vary within this range based on factors such as experience, credential, demonstration of skill and knowledge, or geographic location.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Performs concurrent ICD-10-CM/PCS coding analysis of medical records to validate code assignment.
- Applies Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting consistently and appropriately.
- Provides written explanations to support or rebut audit recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Required:
- FT IP Auditing-RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA for IP; 5 or more years of Inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
- FT ED Auditing– RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA OR CPC, CIC, COC from AAPC; 5 or more years of ED coding experience in an acute care setting.
- Expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, IPPS/MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodology and logic
- Excellent knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, AHA Coding Clinics to support audit findings
- Proficiency in identifying clinical indicators to support documented diagnoses
- Outstanding computer skills and ability to work in multiple client-specific healthcare systems
- Excellent written communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to efficiently review large volumes of documents with high comprehension level
- Secure home office environment, compliant with HIPAA and LexiCode’s security requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- Auditing Experience
- Experience with various health information systems, EHRs, grouper software
- Experience auditing for multiple clients with varied policies & procedures, workflow processes
Education Qualifications
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA for IP; 5 or more years of Inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA OR CPC, CIC, COC from AAPC; 5 or more years of ED coding experience in an acute care setting.
