Inpatient Hospital Coding Specialist 3 – Remote
$5,000 Sign-on
Mary Washington Healthcare, a non-profit regional system of two hospitals (571 beds), three emergency departments, and over 40 outpatient healthcare facilities and wellness services has an excellent opportunity for a Coder 3 to join its remote team.
Job Description
This position is open to candidates located in and authorized to work in the United States who reside in one of the following states – VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, NE, TX, WI, LA, ME, WV, TN, LA, NH, IA, and OH.
As the Coding Specialist 3, you will code patient records using advanced coding skills for multiple patient types and apply the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to finalize and bill the account.
Required Qualifications
To be considered, we require:
- CCS certification.
- Three years hospital coding experience.
- Proficiency in both inpatient and outpatient coding.
- Experience in the use of medical terminology.
- Experience using the concepts of pathophysiology.
- Experience working within inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines.
- Experience with PPS methodology for inpatient and outpatient encounters.
Education Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
