Job Description

Under the direction of the HIM Scanning Operations Manager, the HIM Operations Supervisor, provides direct supervision and leadership to the following staff and processes as assigned: Imaging/Scanning, Analysis, Physician Completion, Inactivation of Epic User`s, Stat Release of Information and Transcription support. Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of Froedtert Health’s mission. Works with the HIM Scanning Operations Manager on employee satisfaction and retention.

Required Qualifications

4 years progressive experience in a Health Information Management (HIM) Department in a health care setting is required.

Knowledge of all aspects of health information management including federal and state laws and regulations, Joint Commission standards and Medicare Conditions of Participation relating to healthcare records. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective planning, organizing, delegating and time management skills. Personal and professional integrity. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively and meet established goals and objectives. Ability to anticipate and solve problems.

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required. Active membership in AHIMA with ongoing completion of continuing education requirements is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Four years’ experience in HIM in an academic healthcare facility is preferred. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Education Qualifications

Associate (or 2 yr) Degree in Health Information Management is required. Bachelor’s Degree in HIM or equivalent is preferred.
