Job Description

e4 HIM Validation Analyst Responsibilities include:


Description: Onsite role. Reports to HIM department leadership at e4, and the client practice manager while onsite. The role will consist primarily of performing data validation on clinical content of migrated data, and more specifically comparing medical record data in patient paper medical records to that of data stored in the NextGen Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The ideal candidate should possess working medical record knowledge along with EMR experience, along with a keen sense of data integrity and medical terminology. *Covid Vaccination Required*

The role itself will involve reviewing patient physical paper medical record against what is stored in the NextGen EMR. There is a large volume of paper medical records at the locations that the person will be reviewing the accuracy of the converted data in the EMR, making sure that all intended clinical documentation is appearing correctly and in the right locations inside the EMR.

Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:

  • Documentation of inconsistencies of the converted medical record data, and reporting the issues appropriately in a clear and concise manner
  • Documentation of production on a daily basis to ensure project completion timelines are being met
  • Reporting of key performance indicators to both the e4 management and client management
  • Participation in recurring conference calls with client and other stakeholders to report findings and status of the efforts accordingly
  • Ensuring that working hours are met each week and being on-time
  • Filing and retrieving paper or electronic medical records
  • Provide additional levels of coordination, participation and assistance in the execution of data validation as appropriate.
  • performing quality control and validation activities to ensure all documents and patient data belong to the correct patient and account
  • other activities as assigned


Required Qualifications

Experience, Education and Training Minimum:

  • Interpersonal skills in order to communicate tactfully with peers and the professional staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and Electronic Medical Record systms, specifically intermediate use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Possess a general knowledge of the content of a medical record including basic regulatory requirements.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding communication, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Basic working knowledge of medical terminology including medical specialties.
  • Attention to detail is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital Health Information Management Department experience preferred.
  • Experience with NextGen software preferred.

Education Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Technology / Management or another closely related health care field required. Will consider two years experience in Health Information Management performing medical record analysis, record assembly or scanning in lieu of education requirement
