Central Nebraska Medical Clinic in Broken Bow, NE is looking for a full-time medical coder to join our team!

Job Description

Assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes for reimbursement.
Analyzes medical records, identifies documentation deficiencies and discrepancies.
Follows coding conventions/guidelines and serves as resource to scribes, billing staff and physicians.
Validates that documentation supports diagnoses, procedures and treatment results for reimbursement and reporting purposes.
Meets coding productivity/quality rating requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by Medical Records Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of coding guidelines
• Coding experience in a physician office setting preferred
• Coding certification preferred
• Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and pharmacology
• Microsoft Office skills
• Professionalism, confidentiality
• Strong communication skills preferred

Education Qualifications

College degree in coding/health information management, or experience in medical records, claims or billing is an asset and is preferred.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent will be considered
Coding Certification preferred or must be willing to obtain coding certification within 1 year of employment.
Previous medical office experience preferred.
