Job Description

Tri-County Health Care (TCHC) has a Full-Time HIM Manager position open at the Wadena Campus. Our team is looking for a positive addition that can encompass the TCHC values, including integrity, humility and accountability. The primary function of this role is to provide planning, direction, and oversight to the Health Information Department.
This position is full time; 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00pm.  TCHC offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life and retirement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Works collaboratively with organizational leadership to coordinate HIM functions with clinical departments within hospital and clinics.
  • Work collaboratively with medical staff in matters of chart completion and documentation to ensure coding accuracy, optimal reimbursement, and compliance with licensing and accrediting organization standards (The Joint Commission, Conditions of Participation), federal, state, local regulations (Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Policies).
  • Takes an active role in the Information Management Team offering suggestions and providing expertise relating to reports needed and information required from the information system.
  • Supervise the release of information to authorized persons and answers all subpoenas.
Competencies required:
  • Experience with electronic medical record functionality (EPIC preferred)
  • Knowledge of state and federal legislation for HIPAA Privacy and medical record access, retention of medical records
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Able to organize and communicate effectively
  • Cross cultural sensitivity
Education and experience required:
  • Minimum of an Associates degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 years of healthcare management experience
  • Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform required responsibilities.
Immunization requirements include: MMR, Hepatitis B (based on the position), Tdap, Varicella, Influenza, COVID-19.
