Job Description

This position is responsible for the maintenance, coordination, administration, and monitoring of HIM Access/Disclosure functions as well as dictation and partial dictation services. Coordinates the relationship with the Release of Information (ROI) and Transcription Vendors. Acts as a subject matter expert for all Access/Disclosure modules in our electronic health record and for the Historical Health Information Portal. Provide MyChart support that includes: activation, release of information, customer assistance, and audits.

Working hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. After training is complete, this position will be primarily remote with a rotating on-site schedule of approximately 2 days every 4 weeks. Department location at off-campus office building located in West Allis.

Required Qualifications

Require previous experience performing quality/data integrity audits of medical record data.
Require previous experience working with a dictation/transcription system and resolving transcription issues for providers.
Strong analytical ability and proficiency with personal computer and commonly used MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, e-mail etc.)
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and HIM IT Support Systems.
Ability to Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with internal and external customers, as well as their co-workers. Strong interpersonal skills to professionally and effectively relate to others.
Requires ability to initiate action, creatively solve problems, write reports and deal with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of related experience with a focus on quality and electronic records/systems. Previous experience in a Health Information Management department is strongly preferred.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field required.
RHIA/RHIT certification through the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
