The University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) is seeking a full-time, Reimbursement Coding Representative join a worldwide leader in oral health education, clinical care and research that is patient –centered and evidence-based.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master’s programs. The Reimbursement Coding Representative is responsible for ensuring all physician clinic and anesthesia billing are received, reviewed and submitted with appropriate CPT/CDT and diagnosis codes. The Reimbursement Coding Representative may also assist in various revenue cycle operations including, but not limited to: financial clearances, post authorizations, corresponding with third party insurances, investigate denials and respond to supplemental request.
Candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent and must have any one or any combination totaling 18 months: work experience in a healthcare setting utilizing ICD-10 and CPT coding systems, Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) systems of coding to assign codes for services provided to patients and/or college course work relating to healthcare operations. The preferred candidate will be have excellent customer service, written and communication skills and ability to work independently to effectively and efficiently perform assigned duties.
