We have an exciting opportunity to join our health information management team as a HIM Technician – Clinic (UKH St. Francis Campus).
The HIM Technician – Clinic (PVMC) supports the provider groups by processing medical record documentation necessary for patient care. This documentation includes both internal and external documentation received via RightFax and patient clinical care areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Receives external medical records, prescription refills, DME requests, referrals, results of tests via electronic upload and on paper for physician office locations.
•Prepare the paper documents to be scanned and/or imported.
•Tasks to physicians as appropriate and other team members as needed.
•Adheres to 24 hour or less turnaround time for insuring information is available for clinicians use expeditiously.
•Ability to answer calls, process them or route appropriately
•Ability to work all scanner equipment, clean, assess and maintain it
•May be required to perform basic ROI duties, including walk-ins
•Meet productivity and quality expectations
•Attend required department meetings
•Preferred: One (1) year of related experience.
•Experience with Microsoft applications is preferred.
•Minimum: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
