Job Summary: This position is responsible for implementing, designing and providing business and administrative analytics within the functional areas of the Health Information Management (HIM) Department including creating and
maintaining Forms Fast Systems Documents and Implementing HIM Information Blocking criteria and processes. Ability to demonstrate Project Management Books of Knowledge (PMBOK) Project Management skills, create dashboards and reports with key performance indicators and metrics to support management’s
objectives. Assists Health Information Management leaders in initiatives to improve HIM statistics, reporting capabilities and overall performance. Determines how processes can be aligned with best practices to achieve optimal results and measurable change enabling SRH- HIM to maintain its profitable position while operating in full compliance with federal and state regulations.
Essential functions: Ensures accessibility and flow of performance information to all relevant parties. Analyzes financial data to identify trends, patterns and root causes. Examines business and procedural workflows to identify weaknesses
and suggests alternatives as necessary. Conducts quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of performance and helps identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. Utilizes a strong understanding of software, operational workflows, governing policies and regulations to assist in process changes. Organizes statistical findings; interprets, simplifies, and presents information in order to champion initiatives to support data integrity and overall revenue cycle performance and efficiency. Supports all revenue enhancement initiatives as
needed. Maintains knowledge of changes occurring in healthcare Industry. Supports Team by Cross-training and/or providing back-up coverage as needed. Materially participates in various department and companywide efficiency improvement projects, meetings and processes. Comply with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must have an excellent understanding of provider and facility healthcare HIM operations. Experience with EPIC EHR desired. Previous continuous quality improvement, project management and team training desired. Advanced proficiency in the use of PC applications such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project required.
License/Certifications: PMP, RHIT, RHIA preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Skills: Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills. Must present a professional demeanor, encourage participation & collaboration in an open approachable style with both internal & external customers, be proactive, highly organized, detail oriented & able to respond in an accurate and timely manner to data requests. Needs to have strong analytical/problem solving skills in order to assess complex problems quickly and develop multiple scenarios for solutions.

Must have a proven history of working effectively under time constraints while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in extracting elements from multiple systems and incorporating into meaningful data is required. Must have solid judgment and take personal responsibility and ownership of all work performed, enjoy working with numbers and be willing to be cross-trained for all functions within the team. Must be resourceful, innovative, confident, and credible with a high level of integrity. This position requires flexibility in the number of hours worked to achieve organizational goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; when working in office. Repetitive tasks such as typing, sitting, answering phones, and interacting with computers and computer systems most of the day is a function of the position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to focus. This position requires working in an indoor, environmentally controlled environment when in the office.

Education Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited four year university with course work in accounting, business administration, health information management or related field, preferred. PMP preferred.
Experience/Training: Minimum (3) years of current data or project management experience required; five years preferred.
