Job Description

Front Range Community College

Faculty, Health Information Technology – Westminster Campus

Who We Are

We are the largest community college in Colorado, enrolling close to 28,000 credit students annually. We were one of 30 colleges in the initial American Association of Community Colleges Pathways Project, recently selected as a “Most Promising Place to Work” in Diverse Magazine, and profiled as one of six top community colleges for transfer student success in a recent Aspen Institute publication. We have developed a strong strategic plan focused on improving student graduation and transfer rates and have made significant investments in advising and other student support programs.

We also have a strong commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity. We are actively seeking to hire a workforce that matches our student community.

We are guided by the philosophy “One College, Many Communities.” Campuses share many common values, goals, and practices, but are also given the opportunity and flexibility to develop unique cultures and programs that serve individual communities. In addition, we have a clear vision outlined in its strategic plan.  For more information, visit the following: and VISION 2020.

Who You Are

As a full-time Health and Information Technology Faculty member, you will support and teach courses in the Health Information Technology program (HIT). Your primary focus will be teaching health information technology courses. You will also provide oversite of the professional practicum experience for the HIT students.

You will work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students’ critical thinking skills.

In this position, you will assume instructional leadership roles which may include developing curriculum, student advising, contributing to department, campus, college and community initiatives, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, assessment of student academic achievement, and other college activities as assigned by the chair and dean.

You could potentially serve as a lead or program director for related academic degree and/or certificate programs. The needs of the College may necessitate teaching at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College. Some teaching modalities and locations may entail completion of additional FRCC professional development programs, such as our Online Instructor Certification training.

SELECTION PROCESS:  Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of October 25, 2020.

Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes: a resume; a cover letter/letter of interest; a copy of official transcripts; a one-page statement of your teaching philosophy; and a list of courses and the semesters you have taught.
