Job Description

Health Information Management Director is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of Health Information Services and for their ongoing assessment and improvement activities. Such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of the department, but also the integration of these services into the overall functioning of Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma. The HIM Director will provide oversight and direction for the proper maintenance and control of client records and serve in the role of HIPAA Primary Officer for the agency.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience supervising employees  in the health information management field or equivalent experience as determined by the agency. Three years experience in HIM work activities including medical records.

Proficiency in using EHR, M.S. Office including Excel. Ability to learn new software, e.g. SharePoint and Teams, specialize policy/procedure software, Relias training and HIPAA Secure Now software. Ability to take ownership and assist troubleshooting issues. Knowledge of regulatory reporting, e.g. Breach and other activities required to meet compliance concerns. Ability to develop reports and other data as requested by the Clinical Director.

Preferred Qualifications

Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

Familiar with HIPAA Security Risk Assessment process.

Education Qualifications

Bachelors, or  Master’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
