October 1, 2016 is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get up to speed on the FY 2017 ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS changes. There are significant updates this year to guidelines and codes in both systems. For example, there are 3,827 new ICD-10-PCS codes; most of which are in the cardiovascular and lower joint body systems.
FHIMA’s Roundtable is a great opportunity to meet the following objectives:
- Discuss the most significant changes to ICD-CM Guidelines with examples
- Summarize changes to ICD-CM codes – especially the new codes
- Discuss the significant new codes added to ICD-PCS with example
- Briefly discuss the impact of the coding updates on documentation and DRG’s
