Active Membership: To be eligible for Active membership, you must be a member of AHIMA who has identified Maine as your state of membership. Active members are entitled to vote, hold office, serve as a member of the Board of Directors, Committee Chairperson, Committee member, or delegate to AHIMA.

Associate Membership: To be eligible for Associate membership, you must be an associate member of AHIMA. Associate members are eligible to serve on committees with voice and vote within the committee. You are not entitled to other voting privileges, to hold office, or to serve as delegate to AHIMA.

Student Membership: To be eligible for Student membership, you must be a student member of AHIMA. A student member is entitled to attend business meetings and educational meetings but is not eligible to vote, hold office, or to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. A student member may serve as a member of any committee without vote.

Honorary Membership: Honorary membership is awarded by majority vote of the membership to a member who has made significant contribution to health information science or rendered distinguished service in the health information management profession. Honorary members are exempt from dues.
