Supervisor
Goodall Hospital
Introduction
Under the general direction of the Health Information Management Director, is
responsible for directing work flow, assisting with staff training, coordinating
record completion, coding activities and coding patient records.

Supervise, direct and monitor work
flow |
|
Work closely with the HIM Director to evaluate and
maintain the quality of the medical record |
|
Development of performance improvement
standards and performance reviews |
|
Prepare weekly work schedules, vacation schedules,
complete timesheets, and ensure adequate
coverage during use of Earned Time |
|
Present budget recommendations to HIM Director |
|
Prepare statistical reports and other documents as
needed/requested |
|
Coordinates coding activities; supports and monitors
the coding staff in their daily work
assignments; analyze and code records using
ICD-9-CM, CPT, E&M coding methodologies,
abstract data using Meditech’s abstracting
module |
|
Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment
and supplies |
|
Enhance professional growth and development |
|
Maintains confidentiality of employees and patients |
|
Performs other duties as assigned by the HIM Director |
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent education. Minimum of 2 years inpatient
coding experience and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in the
healthcare field. CCS certification
required,
RHIT preferred. Computer skills required.
